Extra public transport for All Blacks’ game [updated]

Metlink are adding extra services for the test match between the All Blacks and the Springboks at Westpac Stadium tonight.

Gates open at 5.30pm for the 7:35pm kickoff, and there will be more seating on regular services to get passengers to the stadium as well as additional services later for the homeward journey.

There will be extra seating on regular scheduled afternoon services on the Kapiti, Johnsonville and Hutt Valley Lines to get passengers into Wellington. Event tickets will be available on the day for these lines.

After the game, there will be extra seating on scheduled bus services departing Wellington after 9.30pm on the following routes:

  • Route 1
  • Route 2
  • Route 3
  • Route 7
  • Route 25
  • Route 52
  • Route 83

An additional Route 12 trip will depart Kilbirnie at 10.30pm

Please note Stadium shuttle services to Courtenay Place are not available.

There will also be additional services on the Kapiti, Johnsonville, Hutt Valley lines.

An additional Wairarapa service will be running to and from the game.

Before the event, this service will stop at all stations between Masterton and Maymorn, then run express to Wellington:
Masterton 2.20pm
Carterton 2.38pm
Featherston 3.02pm
Maymorn 3.23pm
Wellington 4.00pm

After the event, the Wairarapa service will depart Wellington at 10:00pm and will run express to Maymorn then all stops to Masterton.

Standard ticketing applies on the Wairarapa service for this event.

There will be an extra ferry service after the All Blacks vs. South Africa match, departing Queens Wharf direct for Days Bay at 10:00pm. Tickets for this service can be purchased on board with cash, EFTPOS or credit card.
