Thorndon’s annual fair returns this weekend (as always, the first Sunday in December), from 10.0am to 3.00pm.
The event usually attracts over 20,000 people and 250 stallholders, with an entertainment zone and varied food options.
Thorndon Fair is run by Thorndon School, and is the School’s main annual fundraiser. Entry is by gold coin donation, with all proceeds to the School. The School runs a second-hand book stall, quick-fire raffle and senior students’ stall.
Part of Tinakori Road (Bowen Street to Harriet Street) and Hill Street (Tinakori Road to Selwyn Terrace) will be closed to traffic from 7.00am to 5.30pm on Sunday.
The main Fair entrances are at either end of Tinakori Road, or just up from Parliament on Hill Street.
The Fair also uses the carparks of Premier House and Thorndon Dental.
