Historic cricket double header for Black Caps and White Ferns in Wellington

The Black Caps and White Ferns will play three double header international T20 cricket matches against India next year, with the first taking place at Wellington’s Westpac Stadium.

It’s the first time both teams have played in international double-header games.

The matches are scheduled for Waitangi Day, 6 February, with the White Ferns hosting the India Women team at 4:00pm, before the Black Caps and India square off from 8:00pm.

The other double header T20s are in Auckland on 8 February and Hamilton on 10 February.

New Zealand Cricket announced today that the Indian sides will arrive in here in late January. The men will play a five-match One Day International series and the women will play three ODIs, ahead of the three T20 fixtures.

All six of the fixtures for the White Ferns will be televised live for the first time in New Zealand history.

Other cricket visitors will include Sri Lanka, who will play two Tests, three ODIs and a T20 game against the Black Caps in December and January, including a pre-Christmas fixture at the Basin Reserve.

Bangladesh will play three Tests and three ODIs against the Black Caps in February and March.
