Hataitai bus tunnel closure delayed again

Scheduled road resurfacing works on Waitoa Road in Hataitai, which will require the closure of the Hataitai bus tunnel, have been delayed for another day.

Metlink have advised that the work is still planned to begin this week, but is highly weather dependant.

The road works will see bus services diverted between 9am and 8pm each day. Morning peak services will not be affected, but afternoon peak services will be diverted through the Mount Victoria tunnel and the City/Queensgate bound Airport Flyer services will not stop in Hataitai during these works.

Bus routes affected include the number 2, 5, 6, 30, 31, 91 and a number of college bus afternoon services.

Delays will be experienced at the Kilbirnie Crescent and Evans Bay Parade intersection from now until Saturday 21 July, due to stormwater upgrades in Kilbirnie. This work will be done in stages within the intersection and may cause changes to bus routes.

See the Metlink website for updates and full details.
