Dress in pink, put your walking shoes on and head to Frank Kitts Park tomorrow for the Pink Star Walk, and raise funds for breast cancer education, research and support.
Every day, nine women are diagnosed with breast cancer in New Zealand. That’s over 3000 mothers, daughters, sisters and friends every year. The Breast Cancer Foundation NZ have a vision of zero deaths from breast cancer and by taking part in Saturday’s Pink Star Walk you can literally take steps to help them make this a reality.
The annual Breast Cancer Foundation NZ fundraiser, sponsored by Estee Lauder Companies, is a fun event for all ages.
Assemble at Frank Kitts Park from 4.15pm for pre-event entertainment including games, spot prizes and giveaways.
After the official welcome and Health and Safety briefing, the Pink Star Walks around the waterfront start at 5.00pm, with the 5km walk going to Carlton Gore Road and back, and the 10km option going round Evans Bay to NIWA, before returning – a choice for everyone. And if you’re not up to walking, you can still be a supporter.
To register, and get details of the various early-bird, adult and children’s prices and the walk routes, go to the Pink Star Walk Wellington web page.
