The total allocation of 45,000 tickets for rap superstar Eminem’s only NZ show in Wellington nest year sold out yesterday in under an hour – the fastest-selling show in Westpac Stadium’s history.
The concert on Saturday 2 March 2019 will have the biggest-ever audience for a single-day event at the Stadium, including 25,000 ticketed fans from outside the Wellington region.
Tickets went on general sale yesterday from 10.00am after early pre-sales last week. Fans attempting to buy the remaining quota of tickets crashed the Ticketek website site within minutes of the concert going on sale.
The ticket resale site Viagogo had fewer than 100 tickets on sale this morning.
Ticketek has set up a waitlist for fans interested on buying tickets for a possible second show, while promoter TEG Dainty explores the possibility of a second show.
There is no guarantee that this would take place, but infrastructure for the show could remain in place for a second performance on Sunday 3 March, after the Saturday show that would have been the last date on Eminem’s Australasian tour.
