Wellington’s largest summer beer event returns to the Basin Reserve tomorrow (Saturday 1 December) with just 50 door sales available.
Beers at the Basin is an all-day event (11.00am to 7.00pm) at the iconic cricket venue, hosting 26 breweries and six wineries from around New Zealand, and showcasing over 100 different beer and cider varietals, including many special releases crafted specifically for the day.
Last year’s inaugural event attracted a sold-out crowd of 5000 happy imbibers, and this year the event has been just as popular. There are now only 50 GA door sales ($60.00) available from 10:00am Saturday. (Note that any promotional vouchers, codes or similar won’t be available to be used on door sales.) You can purchase your door sale, leave and come back to the event at a later time
Food will be available from 20 food trucks, with menus limited to a maximum price of $8.00 per item.
Live music will run throughout the day, from Anxiety Club, T-Bone Trio, Hollie Smith, the Nudge, and Racing.
Organisers Arada Promotions want to build on the success of 2017, and cement Beers at the Basin as an annual fixture on the event calendar
“We’re stoked that it was so well received last year, and have worked hard to iron out some kinks to make this year even better,” says event director Damien Hochberg of Arada Promotions.
Capacity has been increased slightly, with a focus on improving the overall experience for attendee, with a larger event footprint, more seating, and extra food and beverage providers.
Saturday’s forecast is for high cloud, with northeast breezes, and a chance of shower in the afternoon.
