Originally from “just across the ditch” in Blenheim, Indie Rock group Daily J have been making waves throughout the country from their new base in Auckland. As part of their first national tour they will be playing at Caroline on August 2nd.
For this indie-alt-surf rock band the chance to perform in Wellington is very exciting, and you can tell that they’re pumped to get the chance to play in front of their solid Wellington fanbase. Along with their fans, they also have a large contingent of friends who made the move to Wellington for study. Its safe to expect that there’ll be a big turnout and lots of energy from the audience. Jayden, the lead singer, says that although the band hasn’t played at Caroline before, they have seen photos and that it looks like a great venue for the type of show they’re hoping to put on.
Although the band are just a quick ferry ride away, Jayden says that they don’t really know the city that well, but he has previously been here for the Rugby 7’s and really enjoyed the city. As big beer fans Wellington is surely one of the better stops on the road. After the show they’ll probably be checking out the Garage Project taproom, to sample at the source some of the beers they are familiar with from the Garage Project bar just down the road from their Auckland studio.
